If you're looking for a good book, you'll notice I added my Goodreads list to the sidebar. Some co-workers of mine suggested using this to keep track of what books to read and what you have already read. If nothing else, I love it because I have similar reading interests with a couple of my co-workers so I can login and check out what they are reading and decide if it is worth my time or not. There are few things that irritate me more than spending time reading a book only to end up at then end and feel like it went no where and I got nothing out of it. It might sound bad, but I value my time more than that.
Room, by Emma Donoghue, was the furthest thing from this. This book had me hooked from the first paragraph. It is written from the perspective of a 5 year old named Jack. If nothing else I loved it for painting me a great picture of the thought process of my 5 year old. It leaves you with a whole new appreciation of what is necessary for a child to grow up healthy and happy, and the need for unconditional love. Even if you don't have children it is a fascinating story of a mother and her son held captive and how their love for each other turned a small room into a lifetime of possibilities.
