Day 17

Today (and always) I am thankful for Emma. She is the funniest little girl, who never ceases to bring a smile to my face. Even at my most frustrated, she will do something that always seems to lighten the mood. She is an energetic burst of life who does everything with gusto. She has a love of learning which I admire and a list of questions with such a sincere interest in finding an answer that she often provides her own hypothesis. For example..."Is Santa left-handed or right-handed? ...Actually he probably uses both hands to write because he has to check the list twice...once with his right hand and once with his left." (She gives better answers to her questions than I could ever dream up!) She has a love of collecting things and ventures home from places with pockets full of goodies...colorful rocks, long woodchips, tiny acorns...I'm thankful that so far her stolen treasures have all come from nature. She is extremely empathetic and concerned for other people's feeling and emotions and in turn is easily hurt. She has a huge heart and loves to bake things and give them to other people to brighten their days. She is eagerly awaiting God's birthday (help?!) so she can make him a birthday cake, and Christmas to make a birthday cake for baby Jesus and cookies for Santa. She has brought such amazing joy and laughter to my life and I am so very thankful that she lets me share in her adventures.
