Day 21
Today I am borrowing from Grace...I am thankful that I don't have to wait for Santa to bring me a coat. At school the other day, Grace's coat broke. When I picked her up from school she was devastated at the thought of her broken zipper because she isn't allowed to play outside at recess unless her coat is zipped. I assured her that I would go out and buy her a new one so she wouldn't miss any days of recess. There was instant relief on her face. She thought she was going to have to wait for Santa to bring her a new coat and since that was over a month away she would miss out on a month of recess. She asked what happened with kids whose mom's can't buy them a new coat and had to wait for Santa. It was a reality that put our need to be grateful into a whole new perspective for Grace...and myself. I am thankful that I can provide for my children and thankful that my children (on a small scale) are starting to understand how lucky we are.

This is very nice. And definitely something to be grateful for.
