Library loathes
Okay, really I love the library. Where else can you have a world of knowledge at your fingertips for a mere $0.25 in late fees? However, I read a lot of "mainstream" titles, and therefore, have been placed a numerous wait lists for the books I'd like to read. Normally, this isn't a problem since there are more than enough books on my reading list. However, as much as I love multi-tasking, I have difficulty reading two books at the same time. Currently, I am reading, The Courage to Start, by John Bingham. I figured it was the motivation I needed to start running. However, the day after I checked it out my name reached the top of the wait list for The Friday Night Knitting Club, by Kate Jacobs, and now I find myself having to choose each night which book to read. I wouldn't be worried as they are both easy reads, but over Christmas, I found myself in the same situation with the books, Bossypants, by Tina Fey and The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, by Stieg Larsson. Both of these books I have been waiting to read, but hands down, the first was a much faster and easier read so I started with it. With the holiday and traveling getting both done didn't happen. I read Bossypants...(a hilariously real book on feminism and motherhood) but only got about 50 pages in on Larsson's book. "Renew it," you say!? Well, with others on the wait list, you can't. For those of you who have read this book, you understand the frustration with starting that book and getting just to the point that you can't put it down and then having to return it. Hopefully I'll get both of my current books read and returned and I can re-visit my page turning thriller soon. In the meantime, two books at once will be great motivation in surpassing my New Years goal!
