Sunday funday? Or day of rest?

This weekend was full of fun and family. On Friday we met Mark's family for a yummy dinner at Jimmy Jack's Rib Shack..mmmm...to celebrate Eric's birthday. Nothing like topping off a delicious dinner with some yummy ice cream! We met my brother and sister-in-law (and baby to be) for some frozen goodness afterwards. After a late night of fun, the girls were wired and giggled the whole way home! On Saturday, we continued the birthday celebrations with my parents. After more delectable dining at Dublin City Pub we took my dad to see the Rough Riders snag a 5-2 victory at they hockey game. Only a month late for his birthday, but it had all the makings of a great game...lots of goals, great beer and popcorn, and a nasty brawl with 40 seconds left in the game! The girls loved the cowbells and dancing after each goal. Sunday we were hoping to catch the train and ride the historic CRANDIC for the one book, two book celebration, but it just wasn't in the cards. We'll have to become our own storybook characters and pretend to ride I guess. We try really hard to make Sundays a "day of rest" but with so much fun to be had, is it ever feasible to really rest? Should we be cutting out some of the extra so we can get things done on Saturdays and truly observe Sundays, or has the day of rest gone by the wayside? Do you use your Sundays to catch up or to relax?

The girls loved seeing Ricochet.
Future hockey players? They do have a girls team!

good luck figuring that one out!!

busy weekends are fun... so if you have to wait until Sunday to get chores done- so be it. I think it is more important to spend time with the ones you love, and experiencing new ways to have fun!
