This week I am gearing up for a week off work. If you are asking yourself, "teachers only work 9 months of the year, why could they possibly need another week off school?" I would tell you, you don't know my school. I work with some amazing people who set the bar high and some awesome students who are constantly pushing me to be better. During the school year I could work 24/7 and still not feel like I am caught up. This week off will be spent working towards staying afloat. Monday I am attending an AP conference to get ready for the changes on next years AP exam and reformatting my syllabus for the audit. I am also spending time catching up on grading...36 essays down, 53 to go. In addition I will be spending some time getting caught up at home. Though I am thankful that I don't feel like my favorite ladies get put on the back burner during the school year, I know that our house does. I am excited for a little deep cleaning and a few projects. Also, I am looking forward to catching up with friends. They are far too neglected during the school year, and Thanksgiving week always gives me that extra time to send a little note to a friend or spend a night out catching up. Though this week is a little busier than I would like with .....a trip to Chicago, a Conference, Thanksgiving, a trip to Omaha, a wedding, and a Christmas celelbration, Iwe will be surrounded by friends and family. Though fall is my favorite season, the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite time of year. Though the cold weather is not welcome, I love the get-togethers, the decorating, the thankfulness and the anticipation of Christmas. Happy Thanksgiving, we are so thankful that you are a part of our lives.
