It's so nice to have a little free time over the summer to be able to free read. I am ashamed at the fact that during the school year, I have no time to read. My students ask me what I am reading and I hate to admit that I haven't read anything since the previous summer. How am I supposed to model for my students the importance of reading when I take a 9 month hiatus from it each year? Over the summer my co-workers and I get together for book club. It's motivation for me to read something different and also a way to keep me turning the pages a little faster. When I finish our book club pick I find myself trying to squeeze in a few others before the next book starts. Though we rarely discuss the book too indepth, it is a great way to stay connected and learn more about these awesome ladies that I don't get to spend enough time with during the school year. Ironic that the ladies in this picture they are all English teachers?
