Wash. Co. Fair

With a heat index of 104 on Wednesday, I wasn't the most excited about heading out to the fair in the middle of the afternoon heat with 3 children. However, my nieces are worth every bit of it. In the shade, the heat didn't seem so bad and it was awesome to be there to see Jillian's projects and watch her show her animals. We got to see her wash her calf to prepare for the show and then watch her in action in the show ring. Afterwards, we headed over to see the sheep shearing competition (the girls liked that one almost got away) and then to the "Little hands on the farm" to learn all about animals. We finished our night at the fair watching Anna graduate from Clover kids. She'll be a real 4-Her next year! The girls and I had a great day at the fair and got to catch up with a lot of friends/relatives we haven't seen in a long time. With the exception of a few friends from high school, the girls thought it was hilarious that almost everyone that we met was introduced as a cousin. As luck would have it, we met 19 of our cousins at the fair on Wednesday. Gotta love being part of a big family!
