Grand Harbor

During spring break I was grading papers and looked out and saw it start to snow. That did it...as I thought of all of my students and friends who escaped the cold for a warmer destination, I decided though we couldn't go far, we could at least channel a little bit of pretend summer. We headed to Grand Harbor to spend a night swimming, lounging and pretending we were anywhere but the cold, long winter of Iowa.
The girls with the BIRTHDAY BOY! Boy how birthday celebrations have changed! :)

The girls loved the tube slides and it made it really nice that they were both tall enough to go down by themselves! My legs were thankful after the hundredth time of walking all of those stairs to the top!

Norah only wished she were taller, but she did like the open slides!

Ready for her maiden voyage down the slide by herself.

The lazy river was also a hit.

Emma was speedy down the slides...she beat everybody as we raced down.
So thankful for a little getaway with my favorite people...even if it wasn't a sunny beach, these faces brought all the sunshine I needed.
