Nostalgia hit as we reminisced at the pumpkin patch this year. We have been going to Bart's Farms to get pumpkins for more years than we can remember. This year the owners daughter was there as we walked around their farm making friends with the kittens, playing fetch with their dog Koda, and petting the horses. When we mentioned their horse Duke she commented on how sad she was that no one remembered him any more (as he was buried under their big oak tree just a few years after we started going there...he was 35 years old!) When we started buying pumpkins there, they had just put in their pumpkin patch as a way to send their kids to college. A few years later, they joked about having to save for a wedding. This year they joked about starting college funds for their grandkids. If you've never paid a visit to Bart's, it's a must. We look forward to it every year!
Of course, they always offer to take a family picture on their bales out front.
Norah made quick friends with this sweet little guy that someone dumped off at their farm.
Grace liked all the barn cats.
So frustrated that she couldn't get this to go!
Scrubbing the dirt off of her prized pumpkin.
Norah insisted she carry her pumpkin all.by.her.self.
Emma went straight for the giant pumpkins...we had to convince her if she couldn't pick it up, she couldn't buy it.
Grace's selection...though a bit rough in the back, it has a perfect carving face!
