Dreamgirls

Mark and I kept the goal of trying to get at least one date night in per month. As we took off for our date, both of us were questioning if it was worth it. It was a long week, there was a ton of stuff to do to get ready for the next week, and we were both exhausted. I purchased tickets to Dreamgirls in November thinking that it would be a fun night out and it would force us to keep "date night" as priority.

We started the night at Syndicate, a trendy little bar that serves upscale pub food. It had an extensive beer menu which we enjoyed, but a limited food menu in my opinion. It was the perfect place for a quick meal though as the service was great and the location was spot on...a block from TCR. After dinner, we headed to the show. For community theater this production was amazing. You would never have guessed that this was some of the casts first performance. Effie White had some major pipes on her as did many other performers.

We had a great night out. Though we were both craving a quiet night on the couch, cuddled in and relaxing, I was glad that having tickets coaxed us out of the house and to find a sitter. I definitely need to purchase more tickets to hold us accountable for our once a month date night. Though not as relaxing, it was just as fun and a much needed reminder of how much I love real, uninterrupted conversations with Mark.
