This morning we woke up and had breakfast out on the
balcony. It was so peaceful listening to the waves crash and looking out over
the Atlantic. As soon as the girls were up they were ready for the beach! They
didn’t lose any time getting their suits on, *a few layers* of sunscreen, and
their shell buckets. The beaches are so clean and fine (not what I was
expecting for the Atlantic) and the girls loved spending the morning jumping
the waves. The look on their faces when they each first tasted the salt water
was priceless. Screams of, “oh, how gross” and “ugg, it tastes so yucky” made
me giggle. They had no idea what they were getting in to. The water was
surprisingly warm so we spent the next 4 hours jumping waves and building sand
castles. At lunch time we headed back to the room for a little lunch on our
balcony.
Wave jumping was definitely a favorite...Norah practiced on the little ones first.
Why does it taste so salty?!
The older girls took on the bigger waves!
Emma liked to stand right where the waves broke so she could get the full effect of the power behind them.
First time seeing the ocean. (Notice Grace didn't waste any time jumping the waves).
