Week 3

Week 3 started off with a bang. On Sunday we headed to Zeppelins for my work Christmas party. It was a fun afternoon of drinks and food with friends, basically rehashing the night before at Dancing with the Saints. While at the party, the girls had a great time playing with friends and making these cool ice marbles. A little water, food coloring, balloons, frigid temps and...viola, ice marbles.
Emma's winter season for BB started back up this week. She was over the moon to start practices back up. With the fall season ending mid-December, the few weeks off were just enough to have her missing playing ball. Both girls were also excited to have their teams introduced during half time at the varsity game on Friday night as well. They are in awe watching the big girls play and I love that they have some great role models to look up to.
Before catching introductions at the game, I snuck in a little celebratory stop off to congratulate Rob and Nancy on their engagement and hang out with some friends. I wish I could have stayed longer, but it was great to be able to pop in and wish them all the best. Mark took one for the team on this one and took the girls to BB practice before the game so he was bummed to miss the fun.

Friday Grace brought home a friend from the game for a little sleep over fun and then Saturday we headed back to school to make cards for cancer patients for Gems of Hope. They have been following a former student of mine and his battle with cancer, so it was especially touching to be a part of the card making this year.
It was great to have the extra hands to help make so many cards for such a great cause. The girls enjoyed being able to spread a little joy. After card making, Emma got to enjoy a little sleepover fun Saturday night to help her friend, Josie, celebrate her birthday. We dropped her off, headed to Mass, and then Mark and I spent the evening at his work Christmas party at the Flamingo.
With a delicious dinner, plenty of beverages, and a little game-show fun, the night flew by. Mark was the big winner of the night when his "tell me" story levied the most votes, so we'll see what Monday morning has in store for him at his desk. Apparently it involves his desk and livestock. Can't wait to see what shenanigans that group has in store for him!
