Another school year gone...

This week has been spent closing up another year. Finals, grading, cleaning, graduation...it has been a crazy week. All of us have had wonderful school years. Grace is to the age; though she loves school, she is looking forward to summer vacation. Emma is sad to be saying goodbye to a good friend who is moving, and I was sad to leave this year, knowing that I am saying goodbye to not only my seniors, but with a year hiatus, my juniors as well. It was a hard school year for us, but I think because of the challenges, it made the closing of this year seem that much more bitter-sweet.
The girls were both honored with awards at their assembly. Grace, the Christian Leadership Award. Emma, perfect attendance for the 3rd year in a row. I can't say enough amazing things about the staff at their school. They really push the girls to be their best.

I can't get the video to upload, but Grace had no idea she was getting this award, so she was quite surprised. Her principal read..."Teachers selected, and staff voted for the student who exemplifies the following; well rounded student, enjoys activities, average or better student who works diligently, helpful, cooperative, courteous to others, displays Christian values in and out of school and displays leadership qualities." - She was overjoyed. I later found out the Valliere family was in the back to see the award given...what an honor.
Having Mrs. Adams again this year was such a blessing. Fingers crossed with her moving back to 3rd grade we'll get her for a third year in a row!

Mrs. Freeman was so great for Grace this year. She really pushed her to be her best and helped her navigate what had the potential to be a pretty rocky year.

I too was honored at our awards assembly. This was an extremely humbling award for me as I am surrounded by people committed to service, so it is a great reminder and challenge to serve in every capacity that I am able.

Cheers to the 2015-16 school year...on to a fabulous summer!
