The "Inn Crowd"

Tuesday afternoon was spent in the front row at the "Inn Crowd" performance courtesy of my cute kindergartner and her classmates. This adorable play put me in the Christmas mood, and though Norah doesn't like to be in front of crowds, she did a great job singing and remembering all of her words and actions.

Middle row, white shirt, spreading peace to all. :)

Tuesday evening was her big concert. She was so excited to wear her 'floofy' dress and spend the evening with friends. As much as I hated missing her evening concert, she said she wouldn't mind if I snuck out and spent the evening at the Angel of Hope statue so I could hear them read Will's name and light a candle for him.
I was so thankful my friend Barb picked me up as I have a feeling I would have sat in my car with my coat on, keys in hand, never making the drive. It was one more step in healing, I know, but it was all a little too fresh for me this year. When we got there, I couldn't move. I stood in the same spot the entire time, could barely give the sign of peace and left feeling like I was probably pretty rude to some people. I couldn't muster up many words. The things I did say, didn't really make any sense. I was thankful for the cold as I couldn't stop shaking, but I'm not sure the cold had anything to do with it. It was a beautiful service, and I am thankful that I went. I am thankful that this statute is at my school so I can see it every day if I'd like. I am thankful for friends who know what I need even when I don't. I was thankful that Norah understood that this was the place that I needed to be Tuesday night.
