We woke up this morning and Tropical Storm Cindy had blown over and was downgraded to a Tropical Depression. We took all the proper precautions and followed all the condos rules to prepare for the worst, so naturally, nothing really happened where we were.

We woke up and the condo was still in one piece! |
So, it was off to the beach!

Yay! Finally time for some waves!! |
It was a steamy, hazy day with plenty of beachgoers, but apparently not the usual crowds of the weekend. We befriended our neighbors the previous night as we watched the storm roll in together and they filled us in on all the “locals” and helped us feel right at home at the condo.

Don't mind her...she's a pro. |

Perfect sand for shelling and sand castle building! |
After a bit of wave jumping and sand castle building, we were feeling quite lucky when we ran into them again at the beach. Our fearless wave jumper, Emma jumped herself right into a jellyfish! It must have been huge as the sting covered most of her thigh on her right leg and she had some good lashes right above the knee on her left leg. She immediately ran from the water in pain had 25-30 huge welts on her thigh and whip marks above her knee and both were bright red. Luckily our neighbors were next to us at the beach and had some cold water to put on them and they quickly started to subside. We headed back to the room, did a little research and monitored her for the rest of the day. Emma isn’t one to complain about injuries so she wanted to keep forging ahead.

6 hours later the welts were gone, but it still stung a bit and the lashes were still there. |
We had a little lunch, watched her for fever and spent the afternoon checking out the other pools on the property. The “mushroom” pool stole our afternoon hours as the cool water felt good on Em’s legs and Norah was able to touch in the majority of the pool so we could play games (Marco Polo, tag, Mr. Fox, etc) as we had the whole pool to ourselves. We headed in to clean up for dinner and drove around the island through Historic Strand, Pier 21, and the Pleasure Pier before calling it a night.
