Each year in August we get together with my mom's side of the family. I love these people so much and I always look forward to getting together and catching up. We used to get together at a hotel and spend the night which allowed the kids to all warm up to each other a bit more and gave us more time to catch up. Since we've moved the location to the park and cut it by a day, I was worried that our sometimes shy kiddos would take the whole time to warm up to each other and miss out on all the quality fun and play that awaited. Not this year. One fantastic tire-swing later and the kiddos were ready to reconnect.
This park has so much to offer with a splash pad (too chilly this year), great park, clean bathrooms and a great little lodge for lunch. Though one afternoon is still not long enough to catch up with everyone, it was fun to have a few hours to see all the kiddos and hear what everyone has been up to over the past year.
