Day 13

Today I am thankful for my brother. One year ago today we were helping him celebrate his marriage to an awesome girl and I am so thankful for her as well. The first time I met her, I thought she fit him perfectly. She dished out more crap than he did...a match made in heaven!
My brother is the "mini-me" version of my dad. He would stop everything to help out the people he loves...and even those he doesn't. Anytime we have had a project, question, or need he puts everything on hold to help us out. (I believe he has helped me move at least 9 times...and I left all the heavy lifting for him, and he still came back for more.) He is extremely hard-working, honest and loyal. Under his "tough-guy" exterior he is wonderfully kind and I love to watch him morph between his fun-loving, crazy self and his respectable, young man self. My girls adore him as he always brings fun and adventure everytime we see him...they seem to think of him as a walking jungle gym. He lives his life fearlessly yet responsibly and I admire that about him. He will try just about anything that involves an adrenaline rush and he likes to provide the same for my girls...who doesn't like using dining room chairs as swings?! I am so thankful that my parents taught my siblings and I the importance of family and that we are all close. I wish we were closer (geographically speaking) so we could see each other more often. I am so excited to watch as my brother starts another new adventure in his life and I pray that, after all of those years of him coming to my rescue, hopefully I can provide some help to him.
