We did the girls birthday photos last weekend...it was a wee bit windy so they're not my favorite, but they definitely show how these baby faces continue to change year by year. Hard to believe that we have started our birthday run and will soon have an 8,6, and 3 year old!

Sassy as ever. Grace still loves soccer, basketball, and gymnastics. She has gotten really good at playing piano and wants to learn how to play the guitar, but we told her she needs to slow down in the extra-curriculars! She loves to read and questions everything. She is working on growing up way too fast and still questions why she can't have "insert electronic device here." She is generally kind and has a competitive spirit. Her newest trick...eye rolling. She still likes to hold my hand and always remembers to hug us before she goes anywhere...perhaps I can hold on to my baby just a tad longer. Her teacher says she is a great helper and one she can always count on to be responsible.

Wears her heart on her sleeve. Emma continues to love gymnastics, art and baking. She learned how to read this year and at her last conference was testing at a 3rd grade level...wouldn't have anything to do with trying to keep up with an older sister, would it?! Her teachers say she is quiet and calm at school and very patient, the exact opposite of anything that we see at home. She has developed a new relationship with Norah and is very motherly. (So thankful in this shift as the competition between Grace and Emma fuels many arguments). There is never a question of how Emma feels as she is quick to let you know and continues to be our sensitive girl. The world is very black and white to Emma and she is intent on "righting all wrongs."

The comic relief. Norah has grown up so much this year. This year she was potty trained, learned how to ride her tricycle, and may be our most independent when it comes to getting ready in the morning. She enjoys picking out her own clothes and shoes, and definitely has her own style. She loves to climb, read and be the center of attention. She cracks us up daily with her jokes and faces, but don't get me wrong...this girl also has a mean-streak. She has a death glare that can stop you in your tracks and she has been known to have jello legs when she doesn't want to go somewhere. She makes me smile though when we ask her to do something and she reminds us "I said okay, I'm a good listener." If only every request were that easy. Her teachers say she is one of their most independent kiddos. I hope that isn't just their nice way of saying she's stubborn! :)
