Dad of the year

I don't very often dote over my husband on the blog...but this man needs a little recognition. Last weekend I was on a school retreat for 4 days with 45 students. When I first told Mark I would be helping with the retreat, he didn't bat an eyelash. Just a quick questioning of logistics and scheduling. Our schedule is such with the girls lately that it really takes a lot of "divide and conquer" methods to make it all work. Mark is the "fun guy" around our house so I knew the girls would be excited for a weekend with just him, but it was a busy weekend for one of us to be gone. RCIA classes,  piano lessons, Rough Rider game, BB practices for both girls, birthday parties x3, church, adventure guides sledding party...it was a full weekend. Not to mention the regular duties...meals, baths, bedtimes, homework, etc. He managed it all with a smile on his face. When I returned on Sunday, I was greeted by 2 cold, wet kids that had just come in from playing in the snow. Emma was at a birthday party that popped up last minute and he had even taken her shopping so she could pick out a gift. I had a welcome home sign waiting for me on the door when I got back and a receiving line for hugs. Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder...and far more appreciative. Shout out to my partner in crime, I couldn't think of anyone better to share this crazy life with.
