After the Science Center, we had worked up an appetite so we grabbed a table over at Fitz’s Root Beer for a really fun lunch. With delicious food and bottomless root beer, it was a great place to end our vacation. The girls were mesmerized by the bottling line, taking what they learned at the World of Coca Cola and comparing it to the Root Beer line at Fitz’s. It really did taste incredible! Fitz’s also happens to be along the St. Louis Walk of Fame on the University City Loop so we picked out the stars of people we had heard of and were surprised by the number of people from St. Louis…Vincent Price, Charles Lindburg, Joseph Pulitzer…it was a fun little rainy walk to Fitz’s.
Sadly, that meant we could delay no more. It was time to hit the open road and get back home to Daisy who is at home waiting for us. Special thanks to Mark’s parents for spoiling her during her vacation! Now…time for some laundry! ***Update, major detours on the way home...longest stretch of the entire trip. Grandma and Grandpa were at our house waiting for us when we arrived though, so lots of story-telling when we got home.
The bottling line dates back to the 40's so it was pretty cool to see them bottling all the root beer.
Nothing like pickle chips and rootbeer!
Yummy lunch, hopefully ready for a long nap to help pass the car ride!
