St Louis Science Center

This morning we were in no hurry to get our morning started. Originally we had planned to hurry back on Friday to make a wedding, but I ended up RSVP'ing no since it would be cutting it close. I figured that way if we were back in time, I could hit up the author series and meet Rainbow Rowell since she is in town tonight too. I think we all woke up knowing that it is the last day of vacation, and none of us are that ready to get back to reality. The girls have mentioned multiple times that they miss Daisy, and I think we’re all ready to sleep in our beds again tonight, but it has been nice to escape responsibility for a little while and just do whatever we want, whenever we want to.
Sign of a great vacation...sleeping in late!

The morning didn’t work in our favor. Grace was so excited to go to the top of the arch once we got to St. Louis, but it wasn’t in the cards for today. We couldn’t see the arch at all this morning as it was lost in a thick fog. She was pretty disappointed that we wouldn’t be able to see anything, but she understood why it wasn’t worth the trip to the top. Always the optimist, she pointed out that at least this was the closest city to home, so we could come back sometime and do it.
With the rainy, gloomy weather this morning, we decided that an indoor activity would be on the docket. Since we have already done Grants Farm, Magic House, St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, we decided to try out the St. Louis Science Center. This place had a lot to offer. Three floors of dinosaurs, discovery zones, space exploration, and fun. With it being a rainy Friday, there were tons of kids there. Too many. But it didn’t keep us from having a really fun morning. The girls loved making sailboats and parachutes, and especially loved running the energy wheel to make the ball drop run.
Ready for some fun!

Grace powering the ball run through the center.

Norah couldn't quite get it going, so we had to add a little extra muscle.

Norah won the sailboat race every time. She may have had a little assistance.

Drawing on the walls...yes, please.

The ball drop had to be our favorite part!

A little nervous about the walk across the highway...she sure that she was going to fall through.

Scanning cars on the highway...coolest place to have a speed gun.
