Week 1

As much as I would have loved to make a goal to blog more in 2016, I know that I would probably start the year off great, and then the blog would fall to the wayside like usual. A friend of mine suggested doing a weekly recap on the weeks that get too busy to blog as a way to remember why the days are long but the years are short.

Here's a recap of week 1 (Jan 4-9):

Sunday was our last day before we headed back to school so I headed to school to get ready for the new semester and then we all went to AirFX for a great morning. A friend of ours had a baby...welcome baby Wes...so that afternoon we headed over there to meet him and drop off some meals and gifts. We then prepped for meals for the week: Chicken Pot Pie, Tilapia, Ravioli, Cheddar Broccoli Soup.

Monday we all headed back to school. The week was rough getting back into the swing of things with the new semester. Our schools "Girls Retreat" was this week too so although it was a fun 2 days off campus, it was a lot of work getting ready for a sub. The theme was "#IAmEnough" and it was an empowering few days that hopefully the girls appreciated. It was a fun change of pace and a great way to get to know some of the girls at school better.

Friday night Grace had BB so Emma and I snuck away for a date night at the grocery store. I love being able to have any excuse to spend time with the girls 1 on 1. Emma has a few bday parties coming up so we had fun shopping for friends and getting errands done for the weekend.

Saturday Grace headed to ISU to the Cyclone game with her friend Sheila, and Emma headed to Mt. Vernon to celebrate her friend Norah's birthday. We
have missed her and her family since the moved away so it was a special treat. Lucky for Norah we babysat my niece for a few hours while my brother and dad went to a gun show, so Norah got to have her own play date.

Saturday night, we headed to mass to hear the girls sing in Jubilation Choir. They love singing and did a great job! Then Sunday, it was back to church for a meeting for Emma to prepare for First Eucharist. Time to get ready for week 2. Meal prep: Pizza burgers, Calzones, Tuna Noodle, Planet X night, Leftovers, Eric bday
