Wasabi

Saturday was my friend, Michele's birthday. She is a sushi lover (and the one who introduced me to sushi) so what better way to celebrate her and our friendship than a lunch date to the new sushi restaurant downtown, Wasabi. Wasabi has an all-you-can eat sushi buffet. When I think of buffets, I think of endless amounts of food that sits out under heat lamps with sneeze guards and people who lick their fingers as they touch all the serving spoons...add the addition of raw fish to the mix, I was a little hesitant. However, this lunch buffet provides a menu where you can order whatever type of sushi you would like and it is made to order. It gives you the freedom to sample new types of sushi without having to get a whole roll. It was fresh, abundant, and absolutely delicious. With a 30% surcharge added to your bill for uneaten orders, it also ensures that people don't order more than they can eat so that food doesn't go wasted. (This has always been a big pet peeve of mine at buffets). If you are a sushi lover, this place is a must-try.
