We celebrated the fourth with a trip to my parents for a night of catching up and playing cards, followed up by a fun day in Wellman. The weather was perfect, a little overcast and cool with no threat of raindrops or scorching sun. It was one of more low-key fourths just celebrating with family.
The girls lined up waiting for the parade to start. As usual, it was about an hour long and the girls loaded up on candy as we watched for friends and family in the parade.
After lunch we had a fun game of softball. The girls got to experience a "school yard pick" and I had to laugh at how complicated children's sports have become and how much fun and learning come from a simple back yard game of ball.
What's a fourth without some Popsicles?
Annual family photo. I need to dig out the old ones and compare...I feel like the girls have grown so much since last summer.
Nothing better than hot dogs and smores on the fire.
Finishing up her smores so we can have a little sparkler fun.
Beautiful night with family.
Mark has had a crazy work week, so we had to take off so he could get back to work, so we didn't stay at the house to enjoy the fireworks from the porch like usual. Instead, we got a jump start home, so we enjoyed a beautiful view of the fireworks up close as we passed through town, and then a few other great views on the horizon as we drove home watching the sky light up all around us.
