After much contemplation, we decided to take the plunge. It was time for a dog. But, how do you choose? Breed? Age? Rescue? We let the puppy choose us.
It seemed like fate that we had searched for a dog to no avail, yet these precious pups were just down the road from my sisters house and exactly the breed we were looking for! We were set on getting another golden, we wanted a girl, and we in no way support pet-store puppies...so she had to come from a local farm. Finding her was the hard part...choosing her from her litter mates...piece of cake.
I posted this photo of Hazel's siblings to FB as we knew of a few friends who were also on the search for goldens. The next morning Mark and I had a good laugh as many of our friends thought we took all 4 home! We're not that crazy! :)
Sisters!
Hazel was the girl for us. She was the first to greet us and the friendliest with the girls. She seemed just the perfect mix of naughty and obedient. My sister took the other little girl home. She was much sweeter and more reserved than Hazel. Being the runt of the litter she reminded us so much of Daisy with her size, color and personality. Though we loved Daisy dearly, we in no way wanted to replace her, so we were excited that Hazel chose us, as she was completely different in build, size and color.
Hazel seems to be a great fit for our family. Very curious, a little mischievous, and definitely eager to please.
It's hard work keeping up with our family though.
