When thank you is not enough...

How do we begin to express our gratitude over the past 4 months? The beginning of June we found out we were on an unexpected adventure that brought with it every emotion we could imagine. Fear, worry, guilt, sorrow, grief, joy, happiness, comfort, anticipation, shock...the list could go on and on. We started a 54 day Novena praying for a miracle and found comfort in the Memorare like we had never before. We truly learned how to pray, and found ourselves giving more thanks for the blessings that surrounded us than asking for comfort in our times of need, as it became more and more clear just how much we had taken for granted. Our 3 healthy children. Our supportive families. Our faith. Our friends. The smallest acts of kindness that often go unnoticed.

Our views on our children have been forever changed. Though we have always loved them fiercely, watching them worry for each other, care for each other, and love each other through all of this has been an incredible witness to their compassion and generosity. There is nothing sweeter than watching them pray the Rosary, Grace leading it, Emma helping Norah stay on the right bead. They are remarkable little people.

Our family and friends have prayed tirelessly for us. We could feel it. There were days I would just cry at the fact that I could feel peoples' prayers literally washing over us. Notes of encouragement arrived at the most opportune times as a reminder to stay patient, God will provide.

So, today we are overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the prayers, love, and support that have been given to us. Most of our time has been spent in the presence of doctors and nurses who have poured their hearts into helping Will successfully arrive. He had an amazing team at the University and we couldn't be more grateful for their compassion and skills as we journeyed forward.
