Sock hop

We {love} our school and all of the community building it provides and the sock hop is one of my favorite 'kid' activities of the year. From the adorable 50's attire to the music and games, it's a great night of fun for all ages and the perfect way to kick off Catholic Schools Week!
These dancing queens stopped long enough to let me snap a quick picture in front of my favorite decoration!

Grace had a crazy busy night, but didn't want to miss out on her [last] sock hop. Though I'm sure she'll crash the party next year when her sisters are there, I am so sad for her elementary days to be coming to a close.

Norah has sneaked in to the sock hop as a 3 yr old and a 4 yr old, so she was no newcomer to this fun event. However, she was super excited to finally be old enough to participate in the hula hoop contest, and even more excited when she WON! There is nothing quite as joyful as watching a winner of the hula hoop contest get rushed by all of their friends in congratulations and excitement. I wish we could bottle the encouragement and love they give each other during this contest and sprinkle it on them in every competition of their lives...it is truly heart-warming to watch.

Emma and her friends have no lack of energy and enthusiasm when they get together. The craziness just oozes right out of them!
