Explore Regis

Saturday morning G and I headed to middle school together. I am unsure why this was more nerve-wracking to me than it was to her, but I couldn't believe that we were there. How did my chubby cheeked infant walk herself into middle school? Surely she needed me to hold her hand or pop her pacifier...there is no way she could do this all her own. As we registered and found our seats, she oozed excitement. There wasn't an ounce of her that seemed anxious or scared, just pure joy at the anticipation of what may lie ahead. As we toured the school she gasped at all the awesome things to do and see when she was a big middle schooler. She immediately fell in love with the library and the thought that after school she could just hang out there and read. She was fascinated with the science lab and the fact that there were tables and microscopes and even a turtle...not just chairs! As I watched her (most-times much braver) friends nervously walk the halls and share their observations I was overjoyed to see that Grace was ready for it all. There is no holding her back, middle school awaits and she is eager to take it on. While most fear the awkward stages of middle school and the potential heart-aches that await, she's ready for the next chapter...so we will be as well.
