Twas the night before Christmas eve and all through the house,
giggles could be heard, no doubt due to my spouse.
Delivered carefully by 'Tiny,' our elf on the shelf,
we sent a message to Santa to take care of himself.
We asked if he could possibly, arrive a day early,
since we'd be traveling this would assist all of us, surely.

The stockings were hung, milk & gingerbread were paired,
but asleep before Santa? Not a kid seemed to care.
The girls were not snuggled in any of their beds,
because the reindeer that were coming still needed to be fed.
They sprinkled the food and prepared all the gifts,
then planned out their strategy for sleeping in shifts.
They crashed in Norah's room, a sleepover tradition,
and it wasn't too long and they were out of commission.
They awoke in the morning to a new fallen snow,
Their main Christmas wish, was to see the green go.
Santa had come, gifts were opened to play,
then it was off to go celebrate Jesus' birthday.

Making sure the reindeer get a Christmas treat.
Even Hazel wanted in on the sleepover tradition.

Good morning!
Wait, what?! It SNOWED!! Norah was SO excited!
Our first white of the season on Christmas eve morning!
"Yay! Santa ate our gingerbread house! Ewww, he left crumbs in the milk!"
