Chores

How young is too young? The girls complain at their daily chores as if they are the only kids in the world that have to help out every once in a while. I'm a firm believer that if you want to reap the benefits of living in a clean house, everyone needs to put forth effort to keep it that way. The girls are expected to keep their rooms clean, set/clear the table at meals, help with their laundry, help take care of the dog, and a few additional rotating chores on the weekends. Let's be honest, sometimes I give them chores just to keep them busy so I can get some real cleaning done.
Streaky windows? Who cares, she's having fun.

The novelty of doing chores has worn off on the older two. They used to fight over who could start the laundry, now they dread hearing the machines as they know it will soon need folded. Helping fold laundry has definitely cut down on the amount of "outfits" that our darling diva thinks she needs to wear throughout the course of a day though. What chores do your children do? What do you think are appropriate chores for younger kiddos?
