Week 6

Sunday morning Grace and I got up early to help clean up after our Parish Mardi Gras. It was awesome that she was willing to help, so afterwards we had a special little donut date to catch up on life and enjoy a quiet morning.
Sunday afternoon, we headed to the K of C Spelling bee! Grace did a great job spelling and ended up as an alternate for the regional competition in a few weeks. Though she probably won't get to participate at the next level, she is definitely excited to try again next year. She was pretty excited about her 3rd place finish!
Of course, this week was full of Valentine love. The girls loved delivering all of their Valentines and put special care into the ones for their teachers. Norah was most excited (and has some crazy creative families in her class) about her crafty Valentine gifts.
Thursday night we spent down at Metro Catholic Outreach sorting food, creating care packages, and delivering food. It was a great introduction for the girls to see Corporal works of Mercy in action as we kick off the Lenten season.
Friday my students spoiled me with lots of Valentine love, and the girls came home excited after some sugar-filled school parties.  Friday night Mark and I took a little date night out to Penguins to see Heywood Banks. He was hilarious and afterwards we stopped off for a little night cap at the ID.
Saturday Mark had BB early and stopped off and brought us some beautiful flowers. A carnation for each of the girls, and a dozen beautiful roses for me. Since flowers aren't usually my thing, the surprise was unexpected making the sentiment more than perfect.
For lunch we met up with both of my sisters for a quick lunch downtown. They had plans in town and decided to come early so we could catch up and they could see Emma's BB game.
